Details –
On a rainy Thursday night, thanks to Mumbai traffic we reached half an hour late. So we reached there by 930’s and were greeted by Mr. Harsh (Manager ) a very pleasant welcome was further extended by Javed our server.
They say the first impression is the last impression. Glocal takes it very seriously. Staff is not only courteous but well spoken and knowledgable. We asked Javed a couple of questions about his recommendations for food and drinks. He suggested a couple of Signature dishes.
We ordered below
Salt And Pepper Water Chestnut (275++) These were tossed in tangy oriental spices peppers, spring onion and corn. Crunchy and perfect accompaniment for your drink. You can munch on this for a long time. Also even when it gets cold it doesn’t affect its flavour.
Toastada (200++)- A Mexican appetizer that had tortilla base topped with refried beans ( well cooked ) , roasted peppers and lots of cheese. Garnished with cilantro. It was served with Mayo and a very tasty salsa.
Grilled Paneer and Bell Pepper in Piri Piri (330++) We loved these. Paneer was perfectly grilled. I am not a big fan of Paneer so avoid ordering it. Yes, being a vegetarian does not restrict you to only paneer. So this one was grilled in Piri Piri sauce making spicy. Served with pickled veggies and a bun.
Above starters were feasted on with a cinnamon based vodka cocktail by me and Evening in Tokyo ( a gold whiskey and mint based cocktail ) by this time the Performance by Sumit Bharadwaj had started and Harsh happily moved us ahead to the gig area.
Between our starters and mains it did take them long maybe the service had changed or whatever was the reason. It did take extra time.
For mains we had Biryani Risotto (330++) . This was yummmm. Cheesiness of Risotto and flavour packed biryani. It had enough veggies , crisps and lots of fried onion. Garnished with coriander it was served with a piece of Garlic bread. I fell in love with it.
Second dish was Vegetable Soy Kheem Pao ( 360 ++) Very tender Veg Kheema served with slices of Lemon, onions and hot Pao. I found it good but not very impressive.
I also had Summer Breeze a gin based cocktail which was neat.
We finished our dinner with Baked Citrus Rabdi with Saffron Pearls. I quite liked this combination of Rabdi with Citrus.
