Review : Dirty Buns SoBo

Place: Dirty Buns by Chef Boo Kim

Location – Breach Candy, Mumbai

Chef Boo Kim of #Bastian Fame has opened Dirty Buns in Kamala Mills and the newest entrant in this family is Dirty Buns SoBo.

Why – Located at Breach Candy this is a fancy place where you can go for really unique cocktails and some good Asian food.

What To Eat – Make your own cake! Can’t recommend it enough. Please do not skip dessert. I repeat, do not miss the desserts !

What To Drink –  Dirty Martini and Margarita

Ambiance: Reminds you of Shiny Disco Ball theme the moment you enter ! Really nice with Warm Yellow Lights all over and an overall a quirky décor.

We went there on a Thursday evening at 8pm. We were quite impressed with its décor and overall look. Lot of warm lights and quirky murals around.

Here’s what we had

KFCauliflower: We had their Cauliflower Tossed in sesame soy, bok choy kimchi and scallions. It was among the dishes we quite liked. ( INR 550/-approx )

Chickpea Falafel: We liked the hummus but Pita Bread wasn’t as soft as it should have been. In fact Falafel was quite tasty. ( INR 650/-approx )

Mushroom teriyaki : This was for sure among the best appetizers. Mushrooms were really juicy and Bao was pan seared. (INR 650 /-approx )

Dirty Fries: We honestly didn’t like this at all. There was something missing which we couldn’t really point out. ( INR 550 /-approx )

COCKTAILS:

We had Dirty Buns Martini –  I can't tell you how delicious it was ! It had a Pickled flavour. Ingredients - Dill leaves, pickles and ginger syrup. ( INR 550 /-approx )

Dirty Margarita – It had a tangy tamarind flavor which also had Jalapeño and Agave. ( INR 675 /-approx )

We were quite full by the time we finished only appetizers and couldn’t have mains. However we are glad we tried their dessert from ‘Make your own cake’ (INR 550 ) section. It was the highlight of the evening and I would highly recommend it. We had a blueberry marble cake with lemon curd, cookie crumbs, macerated blueberri

es and blueberry jam.

Would we go back there ? Why not ? Its such a perfect place for a girls night !
