Restaurant Review: Madras Diaries, Bandra

Location: Bandra West

When: 4 July 2025

I went to Madras Diaries - A South Indian restaurant to try their food with a friend.

Before we started our meal here, we were presented with a platter of chutneys. We tried Pineapple, Turai, Beetroot and Tomato chutneys.

Without wasting more time, we ordered Rasam Vada. The rasam was piping hot and devious, We couldn’t help asking for more.

Of course that had to be accompanied by Filter Coffee which was a 10/10 according to me.

We then had Aapam and stew. Stew felt slightly on a sweeter side.

After a lot of confusion whether we should have a full sadya or a mini meal, we settled for the mini meal. In this they served Dal Vada, Appalam, Bisi bell bath, Veg Korma, Beans Poriyal, Rasam, Sambar and Rice. Only Bisi bell bath's flavour was off. Rest everthing was perfect.

It was so good, that looking at our reaction, the group on the next table told us, they should have also ordered the same!

Madras Diaries, Bandra is a cozy place with a traditional touch. Offers ample indoor and outdoor seating. We really loved the look and feel of the place and the ervice was outstanding.

Verdict:

Madras Diaries, Bandra is a cozy place with a traditional touch. Of all the dishes we had here, everything was true to its authentic taste.
