Resort Review: Foresta Resort, Mulshi

While browsing through properties to stay at for a weekend getaway, we came across Foresta Resort in Mulshi. Although closer for Pune residents, Mulshi has been among my favorite places to go to. The weather is generally good, the air is cleaner and its surrounded by water bodies. This makes it a perfect weekend getaway.
It took us about 3.5 hrs. to reach the property. The roads were pretty good throughout.
Resort currently has some 20+ rooms and it has a good view.
Upon reaching we just dumped our bags in the rooms and headed straight to the restaurant. We had seen complains about food in thier online reviews and especially about the service being slow. We found it exactly opposite of that to be honest. The food was delicious, priced correctly and the service was super attentive.
The restaurant was impressively neat and styled with contemporary décor and a fresh, modern vibe.
We had veg Kolhapuri, kulchas and raita for lunch. I wish they served local food items on the menu such as Jhunka, Pithla, Bhakri etc. We would have loved it more. Having said that, food we ate was quite tatsy!
We came back to our room for a much deserved nap after the lunch.
Here’s detailed description of our room-
We had booked Mountain view room. There are two more categories – Forest View and Pool view room. Each room is a suite with a large living room with a sofa cum bed TV and attached bathroom. The bedroom is even bigger with a king bed and attached bathroom. The entire suite has a long connecting balcony. Perfect to unwind at any time of the day. The room’s ceiling height was huge which is a plus point from my end.
Sleep quality of the bed was excellent too. (As the property is almost inside a forest, there is not noise at all.)
Later in the evening, there was live music by the pool at the restaurant. Most people seemed to enjoy the same. We skipped the dinner at the restaurant and ordered room service instead.
Room service is operational only till 10 PM. We ordered Hakka Noodles and Manchurian Gravy and peanut chaat for snack. The mains were excellent.
There is a part of the property that is still under construction, so walking area is not as expansive. (Note for the night walk)
Next day for breakfast, the spread was really good. I was surprised with the south Indian items in the buffet, because all of those tasted great! From Dosas, idli to Mysore Bonda they had everything. Even the poori bhaji had the perfect north Indian taste. Full marks for food.
The staff at the front office was very warm and overall service was great. This property is just 5 months old hence a lot of changes are still in process. It has a fully functional spa and a games room as well.
Per night rate starts from INR 7500 onwards. (Depending on weekday or weekend)

Verdict:
We went there seeing some mixed reviews online but this place surprised us through and through! The food was excellent, the service was top notch and overall value for money was great. The same level of property at Lonavala would cost double the price for sure.
Pros: Spacious rooms, lovely mountain views, excellent food.
Cons: They do not serve alcohol in the restaurant (Which is such a prime opportunity lost as the restaurant faces the pool) , no special gesture from the resort for special days. (We had requested for some complementary service for a special ocassion which most properties happily do it for the guests)
