Mouthwatering Paninis @Fakt Café , Malad

As quirky as the name sounds , Fakt Café and its owner both are really cool ! Located in Orlem area of Malad West , this tiny café is owned by a Media professional and now an F&B entrepreneur Ritika Nagpal.

We were invited to review their food and somehow that got delayed over last few months. (I completely regret not coming here sooner )  Fakt Café has turned 9 months recently and is ever so growing in its reach. They have a good customer base for online orders and takeaways.

Quirky décor with Kathakali Mural holding a burger , trunk seats and tiny elephant tissue holders. Everything here is cool. What makes it all the more awesome is Ritika’s personalization. She is available at the café almost all the time. She looks into the orders personally and also recommends people what new to try ( her recommendations are bang on ! ) Being a food enthusiast she knows the food preferences of youth , what suits the palate and what works.

On a Thursday evening we went there at around 7 pm. After going through the menu we could see a range of Panini , Burgers , Salads & Pastas for food and Really amazing milkshakes and smoothies for drinks.

What we ate –

SALAD

Fakt Special Veg Salad – I anyway love salads ( the only healthy food I prefer ) but Fakt Salad had a very tangy zing to it due to their in-house vinegerrate. A good mix of exotic veggies and the right amount of Feta cheese makes it a very healthy.

PANINI

After our typical Bombay Sandwich, what I really really like is Panini. Fakt Café has some really tasty Phillys and Paninis on the menu.

We had Italian Cilantro – Coarsely chopped Cilantro along with veggies inside really fresh multigrain bread. What they have also done is given it a spicy touch to suit our Indian Palate.

Pesto Veg – A very rich Pesto Panini. I couldn’t stop praising it as I really like Pesto. But surprisingly my friend who hates pesto dared eating it and fell in love with it.

Paneer Tikka – Our favourite pick. This was super spicy ( for my standard) yummy Indianized Tikkas masala marinated Paneed with seasoned onions & peppers. This is totally recommended.

Mushroom and Cheese Philly – Loads and loads of cheese combined with sautéed and grilled button mushrooms. Very subtle on flavours. Works wonders.

BURGER

Cottage Cheese Burger – This unusal burger is made with a patty that is prepared with equal portion of cheese and paneer. Which makes it very very soft. ( melt in the mouth soft ) between the buns there is also a generous amount of lettuce and suitable sauces.

SIDES

Veg Poutine – A Canadian Delicacy that’s made of Fries topped with Gravy. An ultimate soul food ( for junk lovers like me ) this one was with BBQ sauce. Topped with molten cheese. Have it while its hot.

Drinks

Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie – Really really smooth. Right amount of sweetness . Rich with the cheesecake factor.

Banana Coffee Milkshake – This came as a surprise. The combination of Coffee and Banana really worked and how ! Coffee’s bitterness was cutting the excess sweetness coming from banana.

Why we liked Fakt Café – Its that tiny place where you can sit and read your favorite book and grab on some good food.
