Review : Food Bar Express Borivali

Location: Borivali East, Mumbai

Started by Food enthusiastic duo Mr. Sujay Surve and Mr. Pramod Kadam, Food Bar Express is a brand new eatery in Borivali East. An area which lacked good eatery that offered a chill place to sit and gorge on some favs such as pizzas, pastas and burgers. ( Food bar Express has a really extensive menu for you to choose from though!)

The owners come from Creative Ad agency backgrounds of over 15 years. Mr. Surve’s love for food encouraged him to learn cooking, his friends and family further motivated him to take this forward. And alas, Food Bar Express was the wonderful outcome!

All the dishes here are tried and tested first and only then introduced to the foodies. Their main chef – Mr. Ganesh Devrukhkar, has professional experience of over 13 yrs in being associated with some great brands such as #Jugheads, Fresh Menu etc.

Here is a list of dishes we tasted when we were invited by Food Bar Express.

Hawaiian Salad (INR 200/-) : A biggg bowl of Salad that had the right amount of dressing and a garden fresh taste!

Assorted Garlic Bread Platter ( INR 150/-) ----This platter had Cheese Garlic Bread, Cheese Chili Garlic Bread and Paneer Garlic Bread – 2 pcs each. Paneer Garlic bread is spiced with Indian spices hence makes it distinct from the chili cheese garlic bread.

Penne Alfredo ( INR 250/- ) Cheesy white sauce pasta which is a crowd pleaser for sure. This pasta served was with ample amount of exotic veggies and topped with parmesan cheese. ( Which eatery does that for this price ? )

Pesto Pizza ( INR 350/-) A thin crust fresh #pizza with loads of toppings and baked to perfection. I would have liked more Pesto flavour but nevertheless it tasted very good !

Paneer Biryani ( INR 180/-) This was prepared and served to us by the owner Mr. Surve. Packed with flavours, this Paneer #Biryani was served with a bowl of Raita. ( I got some parceled and had it later that night too ;) )

We savored our meal with some of their popular drinks. One of which was Blue Lagoon (INR 140/-) a tall glass of refreshing drink served with rock salt on the rim ( Full marks on presentation). And Kitkat Shake ( INR 180/-) - A heavy shake comprising of Kitkat and Vanilla Ice Cream included.

Apart from the invite we have visited Food Bar Express quite a few times. We #dinein or #order in depending on our mood because one thing is constant about the food that is it's excellent taste !!

Peri Peri French Fries ( INR 110/-) A must try. You must try it to believe me ! These are super crisp and yummy ! Popular among kids and adults alike.

Mexican Salsa Nachos ( INR 130/-) - The Salsa is in house and i totally love it!

Classic Veg Crispy Burger ( INR 70/-) - #Burgers of Food Bar Express deserve a special mention. For the price paid, the patties are big and flavourful. Total value for money. Again a wide variety to chose from.

Penne Arrabiata (INR 250/-) - My personal favourite! I know when the sauce is in house and store bought, this, I guarantee is one of the best. Food Bar Express serves the finest Penne Arrabiata in this area and around ( I'd say one of the finest in the city for this category of eatery). A Hands-down winner for sure !

BBQ Paneer Cheese Wrap (INR 150/-) We have tried this wrap and a few more wraps in the past. Totally #Recommended.

Apart from above, Veg Cheese Italian Sandwich (INR 140/-) & Mixed Veggie Momos ( INR 120/-) must be definitely tried.

To conclude this review - As the name clearly suggests Food Bar Express is an eatery with quick service! One important thing is knowing the market, they do serve Jain Food and the menu can be customized as per request. They have become quite popular among the locals and continue to maintain a warm relationship with their existing customers who tend to remember them and return for their favourites!
