Review : Novotel Chennai OMR

A vibrant, lively hotel! This was our first impression of Novotel Chennai OMR upon arrival at the lobby. There is a fun game space next to the lobby area and even some high chairs by the glass facade along with some loungers. This 5 star hotel boasts 3 acres of greenery making up for the urban resort concept.

It’s a joint property i.e. Novotel OMR Chennai and Ibis Chennai OMR. The inventory at Novotel itself is of 153 rooms.

The rooms are very similar to Novotel SIPCOT rooms. These are contemporary with all the modern amenities. Only it didn’t have any green view from the room. However, it overlooked the pool and I was quite happy with that too!

After checking into our room, we freshened up and headed for the brunch.

Their restaurant ‘The Square’ was very spacious ( Seats about 70+ people) and naturally bright. (You'll see that in the reels :P)

Later we also had a look at their gorgeous bar – NICO Asian Bar & Café ! Loved the colors and the overall theme. Looked very ‘Plum and Bent Chair’ with hues of Purple and pinks. We tried a couple of Mocktails at the bar. It serves artisan teas and coffees along with drinks and it hosts some live music nights here too. Ideal for a quick drink or even a leisurely one with friends as they do have board-games here too !

As we had an evening out with friends, we came back and thought of getting ourselves some room service. Novotel Chennai OMR is among the only few hotels in Chennai that provide 24x7 room service.

Chef Sarvanan R dished out delicious Egg biryani with vegetable raita on the side along with some pickle and lime.

Next day we had a wholesome breakfast at the restaurant. The supervisor Ms. Ammu was extremely prompt in attending to the guests.

My husband had an earlier flight so the team very kindly sent a packed breakfast to our room. It was very thoughtful of them.

Before I checked out, Harshvardhan, their Senior Manager - Marketing and Communications, showed the rest of the property such as the banqueting area, pool area etc. Hotel also has a netted cricket pitch area and recreational green zone where they can arrange a picnic set up on request.

Another important facility is that the hotel has a service apartment with kitchen, laundry etc set up for long stay gusts. It has a small meeting room as well.

Hotel has ample banqueting and meeting facilities so from boardrooms to bigger banquet hall all the requirements are taken care of.

Next to the outdoor pool, there was a nice sit out area, only if it wasn’t so hot ( March heat) I would have loved sitting by the pool here.

Verdict

A 5 star business hotel which is vibrant and young in its approach. Highly recommend their brunch. This pet-friendly hotel is suitable for all types of travelers.
