Junkyard Café is not a new place in the hospitality. Their Delhi outlet already being a great hit , Junkyard Mumbai had high expectations to match and they have successfully managed it.
At the end of Hill Road , Junkyard is a huge lounge with a decent spacing in their indoor AC seating. Outdoor and Upper Floor serve Sheeshas. Upper floor is also different in terms of the music they play which is Bollywood.
Ambiance is definitely catchy. The funky robots , Scooters , Telephones , License plates adorned walls giving it a garage look and Service dressed appropriate to its look. The whole place is done up so artistically that you must take a minute to look around and sync in. Music is good too. They have some known DJ’s spinning in good tracks.

DRINKS
We started with our cocktails which were , their renowned Edison Bulb Yard. We had both the variants –
Vodka , Watermelon , Basil & Lime Juice
Gin , Lavender , Lemon Grass , Lime Juice
This is a very dramactic cocktail with all the fume coming out the liquid nitrogen just beneath this cute bulb.

We also had one of the Skeleton Graveyard Cocktails which was made out of Vodka. Not sure why was it called Skeleton Cocktail yet.
Health freaks , they have a large number of healthy drinks to offer. Make sure you grab one of them.
Beer Fanatics – Beer Buckets and pack of 12’s available here.
FOOD
Starters
Wasabi Peas Aloo Tikki – Usual Peas in earthy , organic wasabi flavor made into an aloo tikki that’s not too oily. Crumbs on the outer layer give it a good texture making it a great starter.
Tofu Bites – An Oriental preparation again that gave us a healthy option ( Replacing Paneer ) On a bed of some steamed veggies salad was this tofu marinated in a sweet and tangy sauce.
Classic Chicken Tikka – Nothing unusual however I must complement the chef for dishing out a perfect starter that we had. Just keeping it plain and yet flavor- packed.
** An interesting thing about all the appetizers was the dip served along. Unlike a lot of eateries that keeps repeating the dips or pairs it without giving it a thought, here at Junkyard Café this dip and starter pairing was simply perfect.**
Mains
Veg Thai Green Curry – What can be more humble than a big bowl of creamy green Thai Curry and Steamed Rice! Generous amount of veggies immersed in the coconutty. However was the more I ate it I realized it tasted a little synthetic.
Dessert
Oreo And Milk Chocolate Mousse Cake – This a dense mousse cake was the only dish that failed to impress me. It was tasty no doubt but the consistency was just not right.
