Sunrise offers one of the spectacular views of #Varkala cliff as it has an advantage of the additional floor and a rooftop terrace. You can not NOT be impressed by the #instagram images clicked at this place!

It’s a multi-cuisine restaurant serving Indian, Continental, Chinese, Tibetan variety of dishes. As it has multiple stories, it has a huge space both indoor and outdoor.

When we visited, we were assisted by the manager – Shibu. He presented us with some of their most ordered vegetarian dishes.

As we went in the afternoon, it was slightly hotter, we started with some refreshing cocktails. We had gimlet and a Blue Lagoon.

Gimlet was quite delish and was at par with any fancy cocktail bar! Just what we needed to kill the heat !

We then started with a Hot soup ( INR 110/-) and Assorted Pakodas (INR150 /-) along with Mix veg salad ( INR 110/-)

Veg Chopsuey ( INR 190/-) was the right balance of tangy and spicy!

Paneer Butter Masala ( INR 190/-) – A buttery, cashew rich gravy took us by surprise. We honestly hadn’t expected great North Indian Food but this was a pleasant surprise indeed.

Lemon rice (INR 90/-) They had made it in coconut oil giving it that Authentic Kerala flavor and oh so crunchy Urad dal and curry leaves Tadka!

Veg Sizzler ( INR 390/-) This was unlike the sizzlers we are used to eating in Mumbai, This was served on a bed of Mashed potatoes with cheese and it sure tasted heavenly! Fries that topped it remained crispy for a long time.

In spite of eating so much food, we did not feel bloated or overtly full.

Shibu and Keshav who served us, were prompt and great with some suggestions.

Sunrise is an all day dining restaurant with set breakfast starting at INR 190/-. They also have a variety of Momos and Thukpas in their Tibetan Menu.

Verdict

Sunrise is super affordable and the portions here are huge, making it a value for money cafe. The staff is attentive too. The right place to chug some beer or cocktails and watch the sun go down.
