Place : 1Above
Location – Kamala Mills , Lower Parel , Mumbai
12th January 2017
Well we all know, Mumbai doesn’t really have the concept of WINTER. But whatever little bit of so called winter vibes we’ve got , make it the best of the season for some great rooftops. I’m sure that’s what the owners were thinking when they planned on launching the brand new rooftop lounge in Mumbai i.e. 1Above.
Kamala Mills has got these millions of new fancy places ( Okay , I’m exaggerating a bit) Amidst this , Here comes a spankingly new Rooftop Sheesha Lounge that boasts of serving Designer Vegetarian Food. On Thursday , the Food Bloggers Community was invited for its launch.

I really was awestruck the moment I stepped in. Having an entrance through arched pathway , Above1 opens into a huge open area. A long Bar Table. Big Screen that’s facing the seating. Enough cocktail tables and not very closely placed at all giving you just about enough space to move around with ease. Décor is very contemporary it kind of reminded of me lounges in luxury hotels. Among the variety of seating we chose the ones near the railing with sofa seats. Music was Very New Age and wasn’t deafening that allowed all of us to network and chit chat.

A completely vegetarian place that 1Above is , started with serving us a Platter Of Assorted Bruschettas. These comprised of – Black Olive Bruschetta , Mushroom Bruschetta & Tomato Bruschetta. All were really tasty. I generally don’t prefer ordering bruschettas , however these were crunchy and tasty and with great dressings of Oliver Oil , Truffle Oil etc. Surely recommend this.

Along with this was served a very refreshing Mojito. I know this isn’t the time for Mojitos but I judge a place by it’s Mojitos 😉 The one served to me did justice.

Next appetizer that came our way was Assorted Vegetable Platter that had Corn Tikkis , Spicy Brocolli , Panner tikkas and stuffed Potatoes. Broccoli was a clear winner. Spicy indeed , be prepared to try it.
Nachos were also weren’t with simply salsa but were herbed and served with Cheese sauce & Guacamole sauce. We could go on eating them.

In between we also wandered around Sheesha corner and saw these big ass Sheeshas. I’m not a sheesha person however my fellow foodies seemed to have loved those.

Bloody Merry was way strong guess needed it for the weather.

An interesting eat was the Kheema Pao. Yes , A Veg Kheema Pao. Very interesting in its appearance served inside the round bowl like Pao topped with Green Chili ( Mirchi ) and served on the bed of onion slices. Modern take on Kheema pao. We told the service to simply keep them coming.

This blog post is based on our experience at the launch party and the food we were served there.
